The day is almost here!

Now, I’ll be honest here and say that I have been reluctant to get into this genre for a while.  I just had a hard time handling the constant high pitch screams, muddy guitars, and blistering tempo.  I don’t mind that here and there a bit, but I need a GROOVE!  And lucky for me, Chelsea Grin knows how to bring it.

This brought along some challengers and thus the Great Ice Cream Challenge of 2009 was born!

The rules:

• Eat two pints of ice cream before the other two.
• You can’t melt the ice cream in a microwave and drink it).
• You can’t puke until 30 minutes after your last bite. Gotta hold that down.
• The winner gets a whopping $50!

Pretty simple, right? NO.

Five minutes after starting I start to get really cold, and have to put on a hoodie, gloves and a scarf (the scarf kept the throat warm and safe from freezer burn…). Then I can’t taste anything because my tounge is numb, and the first pint starts to look a lot bigger on the inside than it ever did on the outside.

Jason and Mike finished their first pints before me, but I was channeling the race strategy of the 2007 Race, and planning a late, come from behind victory.

Sadly that didn’t happen. It’s just way too much ice cream, and my second pint was chocolate flavored, which I don’t really like. Nobody ended up getting any money, but I say we were all winners (especially Jason).
